Terms

The terms of ordering

Plain terms for a one-kitchen bakery. Nothing here is written to catch you out — if a line reads badly to you, ask, and we will tell you what it means.

Who you are dealing with

Sweet Brunette Bakeshop, a small-batch bakery in Westlake, Florida. There is no storefront and no walk-in counter: everything is baked to order against a named order, so there is nothing here to buy off a shelf.

When an order is agreed

An order is an order once we confirm it, not the moment you place it. Until then we may have to say no — a date already full, a cake we cannot build in the time, a week the oven is spoken for. If we cannot take it, you are not charged.

Prices and availability

The board rotates and prices can change. The price and the date we confirm to you are the ones that hold for your order, whatever changes afterwards.

Allergies

We bake in one kitchen. The ingredients and allergens for each thing we make are set out on its own page, and they are worth reading before you order. If someone at the table has an allergy, tell us when you order rather than after — there are things we can work around and things we cannot, and we will say plainly which is which.

Where this applies

We sell within Florida, and these terms are read under Florida law. Nothing here takes away a right that the law gives you as a consumer.

Anything here unclear?

Ask, and we will say what it means in plain words. A person reads every message.
